The original baby oddball blanket group did a beautiful blanket called Patriotic Party (it's under the way to go knitters heading) The Southeast decided to do our own patriotic blankie. It was named Go USA! because it was started during the summer Olympics.

The Questionnaire!

Hi again everyone! Here are the answers to the questionnaire I posted on our thread. We thought it would be nice to be able to have them here so we can access them easily. I'll be updating this post as I get more people's answers. All the questionnaires will be in this post.

What is you favorite fiber? Anything that is really soft.
What fibers do you not like? I don’t like anything that is rough.
Are you allergic to anything, knitting or non-knitting related? Perfume and colongs, most lotions, most laundry soaps, anything really that is scented.
Are there any yarn types you don't like? (eyelash, etc) Ummm…. I haven’t really tried that many so I don’t know.
What weight yarn do you prefer? Any.
Is there a weight yarn you don't like? I don’t think so.
What do you like to knit? (sock, scarves, hats, afghans, etc) Whatever happens to hit me as something to do. I like scarves and baby blankets, and I just started doing wash cloths. I have been trying socks but I’m still working on likeing them.
What knitting accessories do you like or use a lot? Not like or not use? My wooden needles, I love them. I don’t really have a lot of anything else. I have some dpn’s and some circs but that’s it really.
What non-knitting things do you like? Golfing with my dad when I’m in Michigan (and it’s not snowing), I love to read novels, I like painting ceramics also, and coloring !
Favorite scent? Well, I like apple, vanilla, rose, and lilac. Any of them have to be a VERY weak scent in order for me to be around them though.
Favorite color? Pink black, white, pink, teal, greeen, blue, pink, purple, orange, did I mention pink .
Favorite flavor? Vanilla, strawberry, tangerine, coffee, mocha, irish cream, hazlenut, I could list a million things here except chocolate (I’m not a big fan of it).
Do you collect anything? Shot glasses from all over. I think I would like to collect some more knitting stuff. I collect shoes, I love shoes !

(sock, scarves, hats, afghans, etc) Being a beginner, I am really enjoying dish/wash cloths since the project is small enough to allow me to try new things without getting overwhelmed but I think it's time to move onto something that takes a bit longer to do....I really want to try socks and gloves.
What knitting accessories do you like or use a lot? I don't have a lot of stuff YET, but I would be lost without a stitch/row counter, and I like the point protector things that keep my work on the needles.
Not like or not use? I haven't used enough accessories to be able to tell yet....so I'm open to anything
What non-knitting things do you like? Civil War Reenacting, sewing, reading, and I love to cook/bake.
Favorite scent? roses, honeysuckle, cinnamon, vanilla, fruity citrusy smells, lavender....really anything except for cookie dough types of candles. Nothing too strong though.
Favorite color? anything blue......but depending on my mood I am also drawn to pinks, greens, browns, purples, ETC

Do you collect anything? Antique irons....the more unusual the better.......and recently I have taken a liking to tea cups with saucers....again the more unusual the better.

What knitting accessories do you like or use a lot? Not like or not use? I’m not a huge knitting gadget girl. I think I could be, I am in other aspects of my life ( you do not want to see my bathroom cabinets stuffed full of products and gadgets to help my skin and hair!) I mostly use my tape measure, magnetic board to hold patterns and a pad of paper and pencil.
What non-knitting things do you like? I love reading especially novels. I’ve recently gotten more into gardening. I love home decorating. I am always searching flea markets and thrift store for cute things for my house. I love my dog and 2 cats.
Favorite scent? Clean scents (fresh laundry, the ocean, babies), roses, lemon, coffee brewing on mornings when I am dragging.

I have been making my own for about 4 months now. I love it!! I mostly use a notepad and pen to keep track of my rows. I have never used a real row counter. I have never used a cable needle, dpn's, or wooden needles. I would love to have a ball winder one day.
What non-knitting things do you like? I love to cook and bake. I love to try to new recipes. For the past month or so, I have been menu planning, and I love it. You can visit my blog to check it out. I am getting more into reading these days. It has to be non-fiction. I love reading true stories. And of course, I love playing with my 15 month old daughter. I love candles also.
Favorite scent? Love Spell from Victoria Secret. My sweet baby girl after she has had a bath (Johnson & Johnson Lotion) I love the smell of lavender and honeysuckle. Cinnamon I DO NOT like vanilla.

What non-knitting things do you like? I am a crafty person, I like to sew, paint, crochet, read, camping and playing with my grandson (5 & 1/2 months).

What non-knitting things do you like? With 3 kids, sleep is good, really good, free babysitting is too... I just started making stitch markers and I like that, reading, love Dr Who, and fantasy type movies (like Narnia, Eragon, Princess Bride), board games and card games, and cooking and anything biology related

What is your favorite fiber? Anything soft. I'm not super-familiar with different fibers yet, so really anything that feels nice.
What fibers do you not like? I'm starting to understand why 100% acrylic just isn't as special as some of these others. Looking back, I wish I'd known more about yarn before I made a whole blanket out of acrylic yarn. So, anything that is rough, itchy, and/or un-natural is not really my thing.
Are you allergic to anything, knitting or non-knitting related? Pollen, dust, and (to some mild extent) pets. But I have a cat and my roommate has a dog. I promise it isn't severe or anything.
Are there any yarn types you don't like? (eyelash, etc) Anything having to do with lace and/or that is white. I like colors and I don't do lace... I'm just not interested in it.
What weight yarn do you prefer? I don't think I have a preference, but so far I have only knitted with worsted and bought some sock/fingering yarn that I have yet to try. (I hope I love it, though, because I really want to make cute socks!) I would LOVE to try some bulky or super-bulky, but I have to stop buying yarn for the moment and work on the projects that I have already started.
Is there a weight yarn you don't like? Again, probably anything that looks like it is for lace. Everything else I feel like I can find a use for.
What do you like to knit? (sock, scarves, hats, afghans, etc.) I like practical things mostly. I've done scaves and blankets and I want to try socks (badly) and maybe gloves, too. I personally don't like wearing hats, so I can't see doing those. When I get very brave I might do a sweater, but I would also have to find a pattern that I really love, first.
What knitting accessories do you like or use a lot? Not like or not use? I don't think I really have a lot of gadjets yet. I did buy a row-counter, but found that I really dislike the extra weight on a straight needle. I have not tried the kind that you pin to the piece, though. I just started working with circulars (I bought sizes 1, 2, and 8 so that I could do socks and basic things with worsted-weight yarn) and I am really liking those because they travel SO much easier.
What non-knitting things do you like? I ride my bike outside for exercise and I really love that! I'm also addicted to a whole list of TV shows (Lost, Grey's Anatomy, Private Practice, Dexter, Hereos, Weeds, House M.D., I think there's more...). I LOVE sushi and chocolate, but not chocolate with coconut or nuts and dark chocolate or chocolate with caramel is extra yummy!
Favorite scent? Lilac, Bath and Body Works Cucumber Melon or Honeysuckle (not really sure if they make either of those anymore)... anything really except vanilla (I know, I'm weird :P) and spicy scents (which I am pretty particular about).
Favorite color? Purple has been a biggie for me for a while now, but I like all colors, so long as they are muted and not pastel. I also prefer earth-tones (blue, green, brown, etc.) and can't usually find anything to do with orange and yellow (neither of which I really like all that well).
Favorite flavor? Chocolate! (See above.) Also, anything fruity (strawberry, grape, watermelon, etc.) with the exception of lemon and banana (gross flavors for candy, in my opinion).
Do you collect anything? I do collect stuffed animals, but it is a very space-hogging thing to collect and I've basically stopped buying them. I can still appreciate a very nice teddy bear (the $40 ones that are super-soft), but it isn't something I really indulge in anymore. One day, I hope to have a curio cabinet to put all of them in. Also, I like unusual/local jewelery that doesn't look like what you find in department stores. For example, I have a black coral necklace that my parents bought me from the Cayman Islands, and some special celtic-inspired pieces I bought for myself in the UK.
Anything else you like that is not listed here? I have a cat, Ellie, who is my furry baby--whether she likes it or not. I spoil her and love her to pieces.

What is your favorite fiber? - Anything SOFT
What fibers do you not like? - Llama (allergic), Cotton (unless it's really soft), anything rough.
Are you allergic to anything, knitting or non-knitting related? - I'm allergic to all furry or feathered animals. I'm also allergic to most lotions, scented soaps, and colognes.
Are there any yarn types you don't like? (eyelash, etc) - I don't like most novelty yarns (ribbon, eyelash). I also don't like rough-feeling yarns.
What weight yarn do you prefer? - Any weight is fine with me.
Is there a weight yarn you don't like? - Nope
What do you like to knit? (sock, scarves, hats, afghans, etc) - All of the above, but smaller projects are best. My arthritis makes it hard to hold the larger projects.
What knitting accessories do you like or use a lot? Not like or not use? - I mostly use circular needles or dpns, row counters, tapestry needles, and tape measures. I occasionally use cable needles. I have about 6 knitting bags, and could probably use 6 more! I don't use stitch markers, and I don't like bamboo or wooden needles.
What non-knitting things do you like? - I like reading craft, home and entertainment magazines, even if they are old. I like to light candles all over the house. I like nice hair barrettes, beaded necklaces, and vintage broaches.

Anything else you like that is not listed here? - I like to read classic literature. I enjoy watching documentaries of any kind, travel videos, and tours that show how things are made. I'm a space nut - anything about NASA fascinates me. I enjoy sewing and crewel embroidery, and I'm learning how to spin and weave. I want to learn to draw and paint and sculpt one day. I love to go to museums.
